Take away Tokyo Bundle: Books 1 & 2
Please note, the next order shipment will be from 1 March, 2022. We thank you for your patience and look forward to sharing stories from Tokyo venues with you!
Although Pigalle is Tokyo's smallest craft beer bar and bottle shop, there are even smaller worlds inside to discover, so join Hide and Chie as they take us on a trip through their bar and its quirky microcosms, starting with the fridge and ending... in the toilet cubicle! Find out how they secured a bottle shop license (Japan’s first), what’s in their fridge (and why), and the wild and wonderful ways in which the unique bathroom space doubles up as both an art gallery and mini nightclub. If you’re ready for the ride, take our hand(s) and pre-order the very first Take away Tokyo book now!
To ‘bricolage’ is to create something from what you have available – it's resourceful, creative and inherently personal. This book is about the bricolage-ing of Bricolage Bread & Co. bakery, and how Namae-san and his team managed to create a homely oasis amid the fast-paced life and skyscrapers of Roppongi. Over several chapters, Namae-san walks us through the foundations of the bakery’s identity… why the staff don’t wear a uniform, the link between traditional shikkui plaster walls and making good bread, why Bricolage serves a sashimi tartine, and how making sandwiches for the Tohoku earthquake relief in 2011 was the catalyst for the bakery and its community-centric focus.
